Best Tool & Engineering started with an all male workforce on the floor with females only working in the office. We are proud to have 60% of our personnel on the floor as women. Our company has progressed in several ways. Just a few examples are the organization of documents and processes, cleanliness, and a more motivating work ethic. With a more diverse workforce, it has truly helped us think outside the box.
One of our women on the playing field is our CNC Machinist, Meagan. Congratulations to Meagan Cherluck for completing her Apprenticeship program. She is now officially a Journeyman!
Meagan has been with the company for over 15 years and has been featured in Michigan Manufacturing’s Magazine. Her journey as an Apprentice began about 2 years ago. She has been working full time earning her On The Job Training all while gaining her Related Training. In 2009, she began her Associate’s degree. It has been a struggle while every year she has registered for classes and they were cancelled. This stretched her schooling further. She persevered and graduated in 2019. Since then, she finished over 2,000 hours of OJT. She never takes no for an answer when she is asked to finish a job. We hope we can get more motivated employees just like her.
In 2019, she graduated with her Associate’s degree in Applied Sciences and a certificate in CNC. We are looking forward to her continued growth here at Best Tool & Engineering. She will now move on as a Journeyman and support our future Apprentices.
